Asian School of Business Management has instituted one week crash course and industry visit to Singapore in collaboration with Management Development Institute of Singapore, a 60 year old premier business school of Singapore for globalizing business education and providing international exposure to the students of PGDM.
Under this programme, a cohort of ASBM PGDM students visited Singapore recently led by Prof. Saikat Gochhait. They attended two workshops there, one on ‘Marketing Management’ and the other on ‘Latest Trends in Packaging’, with certification by MDIS. They visited a number of industries to understand production management at international level. Their visit to Singapore Port and Singapore Maritime Gallery made them understand how logistics plays a great role in linking this port with 600 ports in 120 countries, and thereby contributing 90% of revenue from sea logistic trading. They also visited Newater and witnessed smart techniques for conservation of water for 20 years.
“This visit has been an eye opener for me. It will help me in my placement and also in my future corporate life”, says Sattwik Mohanty, one of the students, who was a part of the student exchange programme.
