ASBM MDP on ‘Personal Effectiveness at Workplace’

A Management Development Programme titled ‘Personal Effectiveness At Workplace’ was successfully conducted in Asian School of Business Management on the 12th & 13th of March, 2015.

Prof. Sibananda Mishra and Prof. Saswati Tripathy imparted the training Programme over two days which included several management participants from Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd., Apollo Hospitals and GATI-KWE who were trained through innovative means engaged to create a lasting impact of the training deployed.

The workshop aimed at sensitizing the participants on individual needs and mental well-being and incorporated training components such as Motivation – The Only Resolution to Success, Time Management, Distress to De-Stress and self-awareness, effective communication, accurate self-assessment, importance of psychological first-aid, teambuilding, group cohesiveness, conflict resolution, effective leadership and on practicing self-care and stress management techniques meant to enhance personal values, beliefs, and behaviour enabling in developing clarity about life, personal and work goals within a healthy state of mind required to frame meaningful and lasting strategies to manage time and personal effectiveness at the workplace.

Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Director, ASBM in a brief interaction with the participants asserted that training Programme conducted by the academia offers the much needed chance of mutual learning, enabling knowledge and experience sharing between the corporate and academia. He shared experiences from his personal and professional life and pointed out that “we are increasingly engaging ourselves in multi-tasking and therefore the need to maintain mental health and objectivity without compromising on career tasks becomes imperative as individuals and teams.” He summed up by saying that learning the tactful art of understanding and anticipating body language and behavior can be a rewarding experience for augmenting personal effectiveness at workplace and ‘boss management’ and ‘subordinate assessment’ are indispensible to the attainment of harmony at work and home.

The Programme was highly appreciated by the participants which was delivered through role plays, individual and group exercises, psychometric tests, video sessions, lectures and experience sharing resulting in the internalization and the enhancement of value to their lives at the workplace.
