15th Foundation Day celebration
Leading B-School, Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) celebrated its 15th Foundation Day on 10th August 2019. On this occasion, Prof. Ashok Das, Vice Chairman, State Higher Education Council, Odisha delivered the Foundation Day Lecture.
At the outset, he gave a panoramic view of the evolution of the University system in India. He was of the view that university should be a place of creating and disseminating knowledge.
He stressed on the need of developing university to a ‘University of Substance’ which will be dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and to enhance the process of germination of new ideas and innovation in a highly free and conducive environment. He emphasized the importance of integrating the value system into the fabric of higher education. While narrating the relevance of Gandhian concept of ‘Nai Talim’, he said that the curriculum should be designed keeping in mind the important aspects such as reasonable balance between theory & practice, code of ethics and value system. The education so imparted will overcome the negative outcomes of ‘Career–based Thinking’ and the disdain for manual work which will ultimately pave the path for all-round development of individuals.
On this occasion, Prof. Ashok. Das was felicitated by the Founder and Director of ASBM Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak. The faculty members and students were also present in huge numbers.
