Dr. Biswajeet Pattanayak is the Founder & Director of Asian School of Business Management (ASBM), Bhubaneswar which is a globally accredited business school of Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA.

He is former Distinguished Professor of Indian Institute of Management, Indore and Lucknow. He has held several academic and administrative positions in a career spanning over three decades which include, Director of Indian Institute of Bank Management (an institution of Reserve Bank of India), Vice-Chancellor of KIIT University, Group Head, HRD of the Essar Group.

He is Ph. D. and D. Litt. in Organisational Behaviour and D. Sc. in Management Science and Fellow of All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi. He is also a certified evaluator of Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA.

Prof. Pattanayak has been conferred with the prestigious International Teaching Excellence Award in June 2016 of Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) at Atlanta, USA, as one among the top ten management educators of the world, and the only one from India. He has been appointed by the Hon'ble President of India as a member of the Courts (the highest bodies of Governance) of Central University of Rajasthan and Guru Ghasidas Central University, Chhattisgarh. He is an elected member to the Council of Management of All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi and Board Member of National HRD Network.  

Professor Pattanayak popularly known as the ‘LAGAAN Professor’ after his innovation in teaching through introduction of 'Lagaan' movie in the course curriculum of IIM – Indore. On invitation Prof. Pattanayak conducted CE Workshop titled Lagaan workshop based on Oscar nominated movie Lagaan on Team-building & Leadership at 62nd Annual Convention of International Council of Psychologists at Jinan, China which was attended by educationists across the world and received the highest rating. He has to his credit more than 85 research publications in national and international referred Journals and 23 books published by well-known publishers like Prentice Hall, Sage, Excel Books and Bloomsbury. His books ‘Creating Performing Organisation' and ‘Human Resource Management’ are global best sellers of His papers are published in reputed international journals like Organisation Development Journal (USA), HRD International (UK), International Journal of Psychology (UK), International Journal of HRD & Management (UK) etc. He has presented a number of papers and also Chaired sessions both in National and International Conferences. He, being a popular trainer, has conducted a large number of senior management programmes for more than hundred companies. He has also undertaken several consulting assignments for many companies and World Bank.

He has been honoured with citation by noted award winning writers Mr. Amitav Ghosh and Mrs. Shobhaa De on behalf of the Arya Vedant Society for his seminal contribution to the field of management. He is the recipient of several awards and accolades, to name but a few “Decaan Herald Award for Best Teacher in Management, 2008”, “Dewang Mehta Award for Best Professor in HRM by Dewang Mehta Foundation, 2008”, “Decan Herald Best Teacher in HR & OB Award, 2005”, “SRUJANI Creativity Award of SAIL”, “SULZER Man of IE National Award in Human Resource” of NITIE and “Career Award” of AICTE.

Prof. Pattanayak has been honoured by Citation in ‘Reference India’, ‘Indo-European Who's Who’, ‘Asian-American Who’s Who’, ‘Who’s Who in the World (Marquis)’, ‘Asia-Men and Women of Achievement’, ‘Leading Scientist of the world’ by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England.
