Prof. Jibitesh Rath holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management. He did his M.Phil. in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) with Master's degrees in both Political Science and Public Administration from Utkal University.

He has earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work (Labour Welfare) from Calcutta University and is also a Law graduate from Utkal University. The National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) has bestowed its Fellowship on him. He is a CII certified specialist in Sustainable Development.

Dr. Rath has 37 years of rich industry experience in the area of HRM in three prestigious central public sector undertakings – Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL – a Maharatna), National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC – a Navaratna), and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd. (Midhani – a Miniratna). He retired from NMDC as the Chief General Manager of NMDC and thereafter served the Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), Hyderabad as an Adjunct Professor. He also has experience in teaching in IIMs, central and state universities, and private B – Schools as guest faculty. He is now involved with Bharat Scouts and Guides as a Commissioner.

Dr. Rath is an active life member of reputed HR professional bodies like NIPM, ISTD, and NHRDN. He was adjudged as an ‘Outstanding’ Chief Vigilance Officer by the Central Vigilance Commission, Government of India consecutively for two years – 2000 and 2001. Earlier, he received the ‘Best Manager’ award in the area of Workers’ Education from the Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
