ASBM NAM’CON INAUGURATED

The National Management Convention on the theme – ‘Business Excellence: Forget Resolution, Think Revolution’ was organised by Asian School of Business Management, Bhubaneswar from 5th – 7th February 2015.
The convention was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister, Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India by lighting the ‘lamp of wisdom’ who congratulated Dr. Pattanayak for steering ASBM as a premium management institute only rivalled by XIM Bhubaneswar, and has achieved A++ rating by Business India, in its B-School Survey, 2014 and opined that “organisations that portray business excellence are those which sustain innovation led productivity”. Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Chairman NamCon’15 and Director ASBM delivered the welcome address and introduced the theme. He asserted that “ excellence is not an accident but a never ending journey and the value that is created for stakeholders is a prime parameter of business excellence” He further quoted Peter Drucker by saying that “every organisation must question its existence and must create the ability to constantly renew itself.”
In his key note address Shri Hara Prasad Das, IAAS (Retd.), former Chairman SAT & former Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General of India said that “the biggest revolution taking place is the increasing co-creation of value made by businesses with their customers and other stakeholders” and highlighted how the top management in organisations can help revolutionise businesses.
Shri Santosh Kumar Mohapatra, Director, Adani Group & Director, Dharma Port Co. Ltd. and Guest of Honour said that “business revolution is a gradual process” and elucidated how businesses can formulate strategies and manage business excellence as a continuous and sustainable process.
A book titled  “Business Excellence: Forget Resolution, Think Revolution” by Excel Books was released following by the felicitation of the dignitaries. The session was anchored by Khusbu Agarwal, student of first year PGDM. Dr. Phalgu Niranjana, Associate Dean, ASBM introduced of the Guests and Prof. Bhakta Bandhu Dash, Convenor  NamCon’ 15 concluded the session with a vote of thanks. The convention was attended by students, members of faculty, a large number of delegates from academia and industry and members of media and press.
On the second day, the 6th of February 2015, concurrent sessions were held on different sub-themes where luminaries from both academia and industry opined on various topics. 
 In technical session 1, on the sub-theme ‘Managing People’, Dr. K. C. Bal, Chief Personnel Officer (Training), East Coast Railways presided as the Chairperson along with eminent speakers, Shri Paritosh Mishra Senior VP (HR) AES & VP (HR) OPGC, Bhubaneswar and Shri Ashish Mishra, Senior General Manager (HR), IMFA, Bhubaneswar. In technical session 2, on the sub-theme ‘Managing Finance’, Dr. Samson Moharana, Professor, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar presided as the Chairperson along with eminent speaker, Shri  Dandu Meher Kishan, Area Head, Bajaj Allianze General Insurance Co. Ltd. In technical session 3, on the sub-theme ‘Managing Market’, Dr. Ashish Banerjee, Sr. Professor IIM Calcutta presided as the Chairperson along with eminent speaker, Shri Deepak Behera, Regional Head, CEAT Tyres. In technical session 4, on the sub-theme ‘Managing Technology ’, Dr. Biswajit Mohanty, Professor, IIT Kharagpur, presided as the Chairperson along with eminent speaker, Shri V. Seetaramaih, CIO, Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.
Delegates from different parts of India attended the sessions and presented papers on the relevant sub-themes to enrich the convention from various facets.

      • The Cover Page Of The Paper Should Contain The Title, Authors' Name And Affiliation, Address And Email Id.

      • The Length Of The Paper Should Not Exceed 5000 Words Excluding Title Page And Reference.

      • It Must Be Accompanied By An Abstract/ Summary (In About 200 Words) And 4-5 Keywords.
