Dr. Dolon Sarkar

Dr. Dolon Sarkar has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He earlier earned the MA degree in English Literature from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, and the M.Phil. degree in English from the Central University of Jammu, Jammu. He has also qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor. Dr. Sarkar has published five research papers in international journals. He has also contributed papers to two edited volumes – one on Gender Studies and Feminism and the other on Rural Development. He has presented papers at 26 international and national conferences organised by various institutions in India and abroad, including Texas A&M University, Florida Atlantic University, Youngstown State University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Louisiana State University (all in USA), Queen’s University, University of Toronto, and Western University (Canada), University of Music and Performing Arts (Austria), University of Milan (Italy), University of Tubingen (Germany), University of Warsaw (Poland) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU – India). Dr. Sarkar has attended ten (10) Faculty Development Programmes and Workshops organised by JNU – New Delhi, IIT – Madras, Central University of Jammu, GGS Indraprastha University, and Central University of Haryana on various subjects, like English for Academic Writing, Curriculum Design and Implementation, Life Skills Development, Indian Knowledge System, NEP Orientation, Ethics in Teaching, and Technology-enabled Blended Learning, etc. Dr Sarkar taught at the HMR Institute of Technology and Management, Delhi, before joining ASBM University. Areas of Academic Interest – American Literature, New Literature in English, Culture Studies, Theatre and Performance Studies, Indian Knowledge System, and Gender Studies.
