Prof. Rakesh Kumar Sethy has joined the faculty of ASBM University, with an academic background in Computer Science and Engineering and a growing interest in emerging technologies. He holds an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bhubaneswar (now OUTR), and a B.Tech from Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur.

His teaching interests include Java, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Database Engineering, Computer Organisation and Architecture, and Cloud Computing. His approach to teaching emphasises creating an engaging learning environment and connecting technical concepts with practical and industry-oriented applications.

His academic interests are complemented by project and research exposure in emerging areas of computing. During his B.Tech, he worked on “TSP HVC: A New Task Scheduling Policy in Heterogeneous Vehicular Cloud Environment,” developing a new algorithm, with the associated research paper published through Springer. His M.Tech work focused on a Telephone Churn Case Study using a Machine Learning Approach, reflecting his interest in applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems.

Prof. Sethy has also undertaken professional development through Faculty Development Programmes in Microsoft Power BI Data Analytics, AI-driven Distributed Ecosystems Encompassing Cloud, Fog and Edge Computing, and Ethics and Best Practices in Writing for High-impact Journals. These engagements demonstrate his commitment to keeping pace with developments in technology while strengthening his academic and research capabilities.

Areas of Academic Interest – Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Database Engineering, and Programming Languages.
