Prof. Sateesh Kumar Pradhan, an acclaimed academician in Computer Science, has a rich experience spanning over more than three decades. His academic career started in 1987 as a Lecturer with Berhampur University and reached its culmination as a Professor of Computer Science at Utkal University from where he retired in 2020. He also served King Khaled University of Saudi Arabia for five years. He was awarded Ph.D. degree in Computer Science by Utkal University for his research work on ‘Neuron-Based Parallel Algorithms for Solution of Linear Systems and Digital Signal Processing Applications.

Dr. Pradhan is an avid researcher having published 38 research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has also six books and twenty five book chapters. Fifteen research scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degree under his guidance while eight more are now pursuing their doctoral research under his supervision.

Dr. Prahdan served as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Head of the PG Department of Computer Science and Applications at Utkal University. He has immensely contributed to computer education in Odisha by designing syllabi for different computer courses as Chairman and Member of the Boards of Studies of  Utkal University, Berhampur University, Fakir Mohan University, and North Odisha University and also as the Convenor of the Computer Education Syllabus Committee of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. He was also the Chairman of the Subject Research Committee on Computer Science of Utkal University.
