Dr. Smaraki Pattanayak is an Associate Professor in the area of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. She has earned her doctorate from the prestigious Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, India. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management with Gold Medal for academic excellence from Birla Institute of Management Technology and a Bachelor’s degree with a Gold Medal for being the best graduate in her batch from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, India. She has been conferred with the ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award, 2023 by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, USA for her pedagogical innovation and delivery. She has undergone several professional programmes including Faculty Development Programme from Pondicherry Central University, and National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, Teaching Skills and Trainer Skills from All India Management Association (AIMA) and a workshop on HR Analytics: Challenges Ahead conducted by Indian Society for Training and Development. Prof. Pattanayak has to her credit several publications in refereed international and national journals including prestigious ABDC indexed OD Journal of USA. Also, she has edited three books and contributed several chapters in books of repute. She has presented papers in various national and international conferences including the recent one at the second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Psychology of HR management and mentoring ecosystem in the context of changing technological order” at Lobachevsky University, Russia. Dr. Pattanayak has conducted training programmes for the entrepreneurs and management development programmes for industry professionals on Emotional Intelligence, Productive Conflict Management, Leadership, and Motivation. Further, she has conducted national and international certificate programmes for industry and academia on Code of Labor Laws in India, Human Resource Management for Excellence, and HR Analytics for Organizational effectiveness. She also has moderated seven webinars on different emerging issues. Her primary research interests are psychological contract, organizational culture and climate, happiness, talent management, and performance appraisal. She has undertaken research work in different industries including NALCO, Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, NTPC, Accenture, Infosys, State Bank of India etc. Currently, four research scholars are working under her guidance and supervision for their doctoral programme in management.
