Prof. Subrata Mohanty has a long and rich industry experience of almost four decades having joined NALCO (a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking) in 1985 as a graduate engineer and retired from there in 2023 as the Executive Director (Business Management). He is an IT infrastructure maestro and has handled IT leadership and digital transformation throughout his professional career. He has led R & D efforts and has provided strategic leadership. The CCTV surveillance projects at Bhubaneswar and Puri were undertaken under his guidance and leadership for which he received Certificates of Commendation from the CMD of Orissa Police Housing Corporation.

He holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Systems and Finance from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB).

Prof. Mohanty has attended many MDPs at renowned institutions such as IT Project Management (Asian Institute of Management, Manila), Systems Development for Project Managers (National University of Singapore), Strategic IT Management (IIM – Ahmedabad), ERP Systems: Technology Planning and Implementation (IIM – Ahmedabad), Computer Networks (IIM – Ahmedabad), Securities: Policies, Technologies, and Solutions (ASCI, Hyderabad), Electronic Commerce (MDI, Gurgaon), Certificate Programme in Competency Mapping (TVRLS, Ahmedabad), and Masterclass for Independent Directors (Institute of Directors), Prof. Mohanty

He is a member of the Board of Studies for the MBA programme of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha.
