6th National Management Colloquium on Marketing

The Leading B-School, Asian School of Business Management, Bhubaneswar organized the National Marketing Colloquium with the theme “Winning back the customer – Doing it right” on 26th November 2016 in the campus. The occasion was graced by Ms. Soma Mondal, Director – Commercial, NALCO, Bhubaneswar as Chief Guest. In her address she pointed out the marketing activities that are undertaken in PSUs and also explained the various factors that are essential in retaining the customers. She further stated that today’s world is very competitive: So organizations should keep on adding new customers while retaining existing customers with consistent flow of quality material and service in a transparent manner.


Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Director ASBM and Chairman of the Colloquium addressed the inaugural session by providing a brief insight on the theme of the colloquium. He pointed out that value proposition of the company plays a vital role in winning back the customer. Every customer can create an opportunity for himself so that the situation can be turned to magic. He further emphasized that key thing to do to win back the customer is to put value back into the relationship.


Shri Rajen Padhi, Director General of Utkal Chamber of Commerce, Keynote Speaker of the colloquium, shared his rich experience in international trade and highlighted the various aspects of customer relationship. He also emphasized on truthfulness, honesty, supportive price, service and good human relations which are the ingredients of business.


Shri Sudhanshu Varma, President Marketing, iNurture, Bangalore, addressed the event as Guest of Honour and focused on the impact of customer experience. He said that customer retention is key to growth of any business.


The inaugural session was followed by two technical sessions with sub-themes “Redefining Customer Segments” and “Repositioning Market Offering”. The technical sessions witnessed lively discussion by panel members Shri Avinna Kumar Pahi, General Manager (Marketing), BSNL, Bhubaneswar, Shri Sasikant Singh, Commercial Head, Suyog Computech (P) Ltd, Shri Mathavan Krishnan, General Manager – Business Development, Apollo Hospital, Shri D. K. Mohanty, General Manager (Sales and Marketing), Odisha Mining Corporation, Shri M. S. Balan, General Manager, Kurlon, Bangalore and Shri Rakesh Parida, Director, Thoomri.Com as panel members.


Prof. Raj Kamal Verma, Coordinator of the Colloquium, introduced the guests in the inaugural session and Prof. M. N. Samantaray, Co-Coordinator of the Colloquium, proposed vote of thanks. The Programme was attended by a number of research scholars, students and teachers and corporate executives. The Programme was anchored by ASBM students Ms. Sumana Bose, Ms. Ankita Parida and Ms. Jharna Kisan
